Fever rising!

We have been having a crazy week here. My son’s been sick with that nasty virus that has flayed all of the kids around here. I have never seen him so sick. We have been back and forth to the doctor’s, and even went running to the hospital because his temperature hit 104.5. My wife took two days off of work, and I had to work from home two days. For those of you who aren’t paying attention, that meant I wasn’t in the office for two days in my third week of work! My boss was pretty nice about it, but I’m afraid he is thinking, “I’m never hiring a woman again.”

Meanwhile, I have been trying to get a project out the door and take care of a sick baby at the same time. When I first went back to work, I was trying to be zen like about it. I tried to work when I was at work, and be with my baby when I was at home. But this week, I’ve had to do both at once, which of course means I’m doing neither well. The kid is the priority though, I just hope I don’t get fired.

So as of this moment,

  • I haven’t brushed my teeth
  • I am still in my pajamas
  • House is a disaster
  • Dog hasn't been walked
  • Lil’ guy is in front of the television
  • Project isn’t done
  • Emails/calls have not been made

But, Googie Baba, I hear you say, you updated your blog. Yeah. I know.

Warm washcloths (not hot) laid on the forehead and the back of the neck.

They will cool slowly until they are cold, leave them there.

It cools the little guy slowly unlike a shocking ice bath.

How do you know this, you may ask?

Adam spent 3 days with 105 hooked up to every machine possible.

I feel for you. High fevers are traumatic.

TV is good and the dog will survive.

Thanks Housewife! I think lil' guy has turned a corner. He's acting better than he has.

That must have been horrible to experience your son being ill like that.

Hey, Googie...

So sorry the little muffin is not feeling well. I hope he gets over it quickly.

I so apologize for sending you over into that nasty fray. You are just the most human of faces I know to put on this particular plight.

What nasty fray?

I love a good fray!

Yes, Adam recovered from that 5.5 years ago.

I am still saving for therapy. It will remain unresolved for me, there are unfixable moments for every mother.

FYI

Your work sucks!!!! Why do I say this? Because you blog less and I miss that.

*sulking*

Hey Rosie,

Its really no problem. I wouldn't have jumped in if I couldn't have handled it. And I am actually glad that you introduced me to Paul's blog.

Housewife,
It was a discussion on this web site:
http://www.originalfaith.com/blog/index.html
battling the Christians, of course.

Yes, blogging and housework have been sacrificed to the god of commerce. Right now, I am blogging at work while the men folk are discussing something behind closed doors (I hope its not me and my inability to give 100% to the job)

My house is a mess and I can't blame sick children unless you count the 19 year old's hangover that I'm not supposed to know about/notice!

Maggie, that's so funny. I am not looking forward to hangovers.
